How many brothers and sisters do you have? The featured family is very much unlike the average U.S. family. It has more than the usual 2 to 3 children. However, each episode showcases average and ordinary happenings an ordinary family can identify with. Like, Robert wanting his heart attack kept from the press, Nora and Holly organizing an engagement party for Justin and Rebecca and later looking for a suitable venue for the wedding, Kitty struggling to keep secret her cancer from the rest of the family but Robert and Nora want the best treatment for her and later having to suffer much due to the chemotherapy procedure she is undergoing, Kevin and Scotty discussing the possibility of surrogacy, Holly having unwanted financial problems and getting help from Rebecca and Ryan,(but later gets worse) and Sarah having a new lover with almost everybody’s approval except for Nora’s.
