Brothers & Sisters : Listening To Clooney
Matthew Rhys who plays Kevin Walker in the TV series Brothers and Sisters is on solid ground in the world of television, though he has risen to fame himself he still has other movie stars to look up to. It is none other than George Clooney whom Matthew has to thank. Rhys said that he listened to the voice of Clooney almost every day before he went to ABC to audition for his role in Brothers and Sisters. He also added that he wouldn’t have able to perfect his American accent if he didn’t listen to Clooney every day.

Matthew was born in Wales and was taught the Welsh language, but being an actor he needed to have a wide array of accents at his disposal. He used the American accent he learned from listening to Clooney in all his U.S. roles. When it comes to preparing for a role every actor has their own way and Matthew’s was studying his idol George Clooney’s tapes. This might as well be looked on as a tribute to Clooney.

Whatever be the case listening to Clooney endlessly has worked very well for Matthew, he has got a number of roles thanks to his Clooney American accent. Besides Brothers and Sisters Matthew is also known for Whatever Happened to Harold Smith?, the comedy series Very Annie Mary. Matthew is also playing poet Dylan Thomas in The Edge of Love, alongside Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller.
Still Matthew’s role in Brothers and Sisters is what he stands out most for and a reason for this might be the inspiration he is getting from none other than George Clooney himself.
